While laying in bed last night, I heard a commercial on television. It started out just as any other commercial and then at the very end I heard "whatever you do in bed, Sealy supports it." The message of this commercial shows all types of people using their beds for different activities. At the very end, it shows a couple under the covers kissing each other and it says "We love". To me this is a commercial that started out completely innocent, and then turned completely opossite and became sex appeal. The target audience is still a wide variety of people, but the message I was left with was that Sealy was selling that their beds are best for sexual activities.

Another commercial that is pretty old now, but still is controvercial, is the Carls Jr. commercial with Audrina Partridge. She is laying in a bikini and talking about how to look "this hott" she has to cut everything out of her diet, BUT there is one thing she will NEVER cut out and that is the Carls Jr. burger she is eating throughout the entire commercial. It is very odd to see fast food companies trying to sell sex because the truth of the matter is that fast food will not make you look like that in a Bikini. The target audience of that commercial is females, but it definitely catches the attention of males as well.
Commercials are becoming more and more sexual all the time. I would be interested to see how well sex appeal actually does work for advertising. McDonald's has never used sex appeal and they still seem to be doing pretty well as far as money goes, so is that just Carls Jr. trying to make up for their overpriced burgers by putting Audrina and Ms. Turkey in a commercial wearing a bikini to try to make up for their lost ground?
